December 29, 2003 The new Elf Power album "Walking with the Beggar Boys" is coming out April 6 on Orange Twin Records. Andrew, Laura and Aaron are joined by new guitarist Eric Harris (Olivia Tremor Control) and bassist Craig Mcquiston (the Glands) to create their best, most varied album yet. Musically it's all over the place, ranging from sleazy, T-Rex-ish rockers to psychedelic electronica to Southern rock romps (The title track features a duet with folk rock legend Vic Chesnutt !). It's a masterpiece. Buy it. Extensive world tour starts in April. Dates will be posted soon. November 14, 2003 Upcoming show at the40 Watt on December 5th! July 21, 2003 We're playing a show in Athens at the 40 Watt on Aug. 22nd. We're also recording a new record over the next few months, probably to be released next February or March. After our tour in Europe last November - December we took a few months off to do our own things. Aaron started an ESG cover band called Tiny Sticks and made a bunch of homemade wine (good stuff too from what i can recall) ...Laura worked on the Orange Twin label and land group, went to Italy , got drunk and rode around Rome on motor scooters with Fabio Chincas, our amazing driver from our last European tour ...I spent a few months in Chicago, writing some songs , wandering the streets in the freezing cold, then mooched off REM's generosity and goodwill by tagging along on their summer European tour. now we're ready to rock it once again, so we hope to see you on tour when the record comes out. - Andrew December 25, 2002 hey everybody just wanted to let you know we have a show in athens,ga. on dec.30th at the caledonia lounge with the rockateens. adrian finch, our guitarist/violinist on the last few records is moving to arizona in the new year , so this will be his final show as an elf! come on out and bid him farewell! i just wanted to thank everybody for their support this year. we had a great time, putting out "creatures" and the cover songs record. and touring the world and getting to play with some of our favorite bands like the flaming lips and wilco was also lots of fun. we're planning on recording a new record this summer, so hopefully we can get it out by next september or october or soon thereafter. thanks again. - andrew November 28, 2002 Elf Power is about to embark on a tour of Europe! Check the tour dates page for the latest developments. September 12, 2002 We've made a few updates to the upcoming tour schedule so take a look and see what's new. Also, a European tour will begin in november. we'll post the dates when they're confirmed. August 17, 2002 Lots o' Elf news... first, there's another east coast US tour lined up. Check out the tour page! There are also plans to return to Europe later this year. Second, the Elves are releasing a new CD on Orange Twin on October 1st! It's entitled "Nothing's Going To Happen". It's an album of cover songs featuring the Elves' rockin' versions of songs by Chris Knox, Buzzcocks, Bad Brains, Roky Erickson, Husker Du, Gary Numan's Tubeway Army and others. Also included are the 6 songs from the out-of-print, limited edition "Come On" EP. June 17, 2002 The Elves have made it back home. All reports say they had a great time out on the road. In fact, they love it so much that they're heading back out to tour the east coast now! And they'll have their friends The Gerbils with them. Check out the tour dates... May 7, 2002 Creatures is released today! We'll be touring out west with the Masters of the Hemisphere in late May / early June. And we're currently planning an east coast tour with the Gerbils for late June / early July. Check back for updates. April 27, 2002 Lots of news! First of all, the new album entitled Creatures will be released May 7th on SpinArt Records. And we'll be touring the entire U.S. in May & June. We'll post all the tour dates when they're confirmed. In the meantime, you can check out some other new releases. A 7" single was released in the UK by Shifty Disco. It's pressed on green vinyl and features the songs Naughty Villian, The Great Society (both from The Winter is Coming) and Dandy in the Underworld (T-Rex cover). We've also contributed a Robert Wyatt cover to a compilation CD put out by Wishing Tree Records. And everyone has been very busy lately. Adrian and Aaron are currently out on tour playing with Masters of the Hemisphere. Andrew is releasing an experimental drone recording on Planaria Recordings. January 7, 2002 Just wanted to mention that there's a show coming up on Saturday, January 26th at the 40 Watt in Athens. October 22nd, 2001 The final mixes were done last week and today the album was mastered in Atlanta. The new album has 11 songs. The title is Creatures. Currently, it's planned to be released in the spring of 2002. We'll give you a little sneak preview soon. And the Elves will be heading out tomorrow for a short tour with Masters of the Hemisphere. Please come on out to a show or two if you can. And the European tour has been postponed due to all the turmoil in the world at the moment. They're hoping to reschedule the tour in the springtime. September 18th, 2001 Elf Power are still hard at work on their next album but things are moving right along... And the band will be hitting the road!! Just confirmed today, the band will be playing 8 shows supporting Wilco. Please check out the tour page for all the info. (Many of these shows may already sold-out so please contact the venues for more details.) After that Elf Power will be going on a little tour up the east coast with Masters of the Hemisphere.
